This listing is for one impact printer printed Albert Einstein portrait. This is the fancy printer artwork that uses multiple overstrikes on the same line to create the image on multiple sheets of paper that are assembled together. Actual assembled image size is 23\"x33\" printed on the backside of green bar paper like it would have been.
These are the real line printer art when they were printed on mainframe/minicomputer impact printers using wide 132 column paper and piecing them together for the complete picture.What is different about these classic artworks is that the effect is achieved by overprinting the same line multiple times with different characters to achieve the proper shading (second photo shows example of overprinting). Whereas the ASCII art that is common today, does not do any overprinting of the lines giving a totally different look and feel that is simplistic with no depth or intensity to the artwork.

We print these classics out on our mainframe/minicomputer impact printer just like the originals! These artworks are produced using copies of the original data files that have survived (amazingly) over time.

These images print out in sections for easy assembly where each section is multiple contiguous pages containing that part of the image. To assemble, you align and tape each section together. A section may contain 2,3,4,..,8 pages depending on the image.

Please note that image quality in photos vary depending on how large the actual printout is and how far away the camera is to capture it as a whole. Plus, reduction in large grayscale printouts blends the white space between characters and rows reducing the final image clarity.
