For your consideration at this sale is a vintage and rare Apple Macintosh PowerBook 550c system,with upgraded PowerPC 603e class processor at 100Mhz. It works great. When the system is plugged in and turned on, it starts up. Mac OS 8.1 was just installed on the internal spacious 500MB (500 megabyte) hard drive. Palm-rest, keyboard, and trackpad mechanism are complete. Exclusive 10.4" color thin-film-transistor (TFT) display shows full to moderate brightness for its age of 30 years. 36MB of RAM (total) installed, with a 500MB hard drive. The internal hard drive is an Apple 2.5" 500MB SCSI hard drive. The 32MB Memory module is installed in addition to the 4MB of RAM that ships standard with a PowerBook 550c. The keyboard contains the original keycap configuration from Japan, and all the machine's are black instead of gray. Ships with an Apple power adapter, PowerBook Intelligent Battery (included, but charge capabilities are not assured nor guaranteed - it will be shipped separately inside the same package with the contacts covered). The PowerBook 550c has built-in audio support for line-in and line-out sound. This machine does not include any other accessories, software disks, or manuals.
