ATARI 800
SIZE 47*37*14 mm
In late 1979, driving the huge success of its VCS, Atari released the Atari 400 ("Candy") and the Atari 800 ("Colleen"). The 400 was intended as a boot computer, while the 800 was a higher quality alternative for more advanced users. By 1980, Atari accounted for a large portion of Warner Communications' total revenue and became the fastest growing company in the United States.
Originally sold for $ 1000, the Atari 800 was released with 8KB of RAM, with the ability to upgrade to 48KB. Its little brother, the Atari 400, comes with less RAM and a flat-screen keyboard for $ 550.
