Atari 810 Disk Drive w/ box, no power supply:
$81.00
The Atari 810 Disk Drive, in box, with cable but no power supply. The box has a non-matching serial number, and the serial number sticker on the drive is held on with tape, so I don't know whether this is the drive that originally went in this box.
Really the retail box impresses me quite a bit. It's an age of computing I didn't really experience, when computers were a combination of exotic and mass-market, sold on department store shelves to a niche audience, because there weren't enough people buying them for specialist retailers to exist. I guess this is the sort of thing that's handled entirely online these days, but we definitely lost something in that transition. Box also has a Fedco label on it, a rather potent artifact in itself, Fedco being one of the most direct predecessors to the Coscto of today.
This drive is completely untested. I have no idea if it works, and I don't have a compatible power supply. (Apparently it's compatible with a Nintendo NES power supply, but I don't have one of those either right now.)
Includes box, protective styrofoam, drive itself, and data cable. No disks included.
Box is in good condition for its age, but has some grime and shelf wear. I've tried to photograph these flaws. Styrofoam was likewise repaired with masking tape at some point.
