This cartridge is programmed with dead test software revision 781220.

The main difference between a dead test and a diagnostic test for the Commodore 64/128 is thatthe dead test is a little slower but uses Ultimax mode – which allows it to function without working ROMs / Kernel in the host computer.A diagnostic test is similar but checks the stack and zero page more quickly, performs more extensive RAM tests, and tests the ROMs.To pass a diagnostic test, a Basic Kernel and character ROM is required. However, a diagnostic test can be used with a diagnostic harness consisting of numerous dongles that will also test the hardware ports of your Commodore machine.In short: a dead test has more chance in starting up and indicating a bad fault but a diagnostic test is more thorough and can be extended with a testing harness.
