Commodore Amiga A2286 AT - check out this packageThe card works great. I put about 7hrs on it. My issue was getting my Amiga virtual PC hard drive to properly boot the A2286. If I boot with an MS-DOS/FreeDOS disk I see and can use the virtual C: with no problem. I just cannot get the C: to boot. This is a 'my configuration' problem, not a problem with the card! In fact, a few hours testing different scenarios makes me very comfortable the card is in great working condition. At no point did the card lock up or crash.
Beef up you A2000, A3000, or A4000. I think you are out of luck if you have an A500. While there are Zorro expansion cards for the side slot none have the 16 bit ISA slots.
  • A2286 card works great
  • a gotek drive setup to read MS-DOS PC disks
  • OLED added
  • speaker added
  • NEW 3D printed gotek sled for an A2000
  • Winbond W83758AP Multi-IO card, by Ipex
  • NEW MS-DOS FDD drive cable
  • NEW Amiga FDD drive cable
  • NEW 40 pin IDE cable
  • NEW Molex to dual Berg power cord, just in case you are short on power leads
  • USB with some files for MS-DOS PC and Amiga
  • freshly printed A2088 / A2286 manual
  • Janus 2.1 on a floppy disk in case you have a working Amiga FDD

At any point you can convert from the gotek drive from MS-DOS to Amiga use. Just move the S1 jumper over to S0 then rename the FF.CFG to FF.CFG.sav. Bam! You are ready to load ADF files. Reverse those steps to get back to MS-DOS world.I am also including a Winbond W83758 multi-IO card. You will need to do some digging to find the proper jumper settings. I did use the multi-IO card's FDC for a couple hours. Consider that part 'tested'. Part of my troubleshooting was to try to get a CF card to boot off the IDE interface via an adapter card. No joy there, can you do better? I think the performance of the IO card is supposed to be better than the Amiga virtual C: drive. You do not need the Winbond card that's really just a free add-in for hacking.
There is the option to add in an XT-IDE card. Read up on that. And I wounder about adding an 8-bit PicoMem card. That card is getting some traction - it has built-in (SD) HDD and FDD + NE2000 via wifi+adLib. All around a enjoyable way to spend some retro time this winter. This card has the Dallas RTC clock/battery. Of course after 35 years, the battery is dead. This means the BIOS settings do not save. Not the worse thing. There are some Dallas RTC hacks out there - top hats with batteries (check out Indie) or go crazy with a dremel. Or, do what I do and just add the date+time+fdd type manually when you start the PC app. That survives Ctrl-Alt-Del inside of the AT. If you power down the Amiga then you'll need to re-add the info. With the PC Mono app running, a simple Ctrl-Alt-Esc gets you into the A2286's BIOS.If the A2000 floppy cable looks familiar, you are correct. Check out my other retro gear for sale. I have a nice A2000 up for purchase. Obviously if you buy both, the shipping for the card is refunded.

Jump back to the days of 16 bit graphics and games. The Amiga was the next generation to the Commodore C64, C128, Plus/4 8 bit 6502 CPU based processors. It competed with the Atari ST 520ST 1040ST line of PCs. Both used the 68000 CPU for their OS.Time for a Mac attack! Does the Mac measure up to an Amiga or ST? Personally, even though I'm into vintage retro classic computing, I was never really into the TI 4/99 PS1 PS2 Nintendo platforms. Gee, an awful lot of tags and keywords here. It's almost like I'm trying to troll the AI-bot overlords and their search algorithms. Humans unite!
