This is my prized possession. Ever since watching Wargames when it first came out in 1983, featuring this computer as an evil protagonist, I've loved this machine. Brings back memories of the earliest days of personal computing.
TheIMSAI 8080was an earlymicrocomputerreleased in late 1975, based on theIntel 8080(and later8085) andS-100 bus.The IMSAI is largely regarded as the first "clone" microcomputer. The IMSAI machine runs a highly modified version of theCP/M operating systemcalledIMDOS. It was developed, manufactured and sold byIMS Associates, Inc.(later renamed to IMSAI Manufacturing Corp). It was produced from1975 to 1978.
What you get!
-Imsai 8080 computer. This is in immaculate condition cosmetically. Not a flaw. No scratches on the face plate etc. Just beautiful. See the video of my limited test. It turns on, and when stepping through the program you see the lights change. That is the end of my testing. While this worked up to that point, and as of May 16th, it is sold as is. Please read my standard disclaimer below. It will be carefully packed.
-From the photos you will see the following installed boards -IO board hard wired to the connectors on the back. I could not see the make/model, but someone out there will know (if so, please let me know). I could not pull it out to see, due to the connected wires. -16K module -1976 Imsai 4k Ram-4A board -CPU board
The Imsai 8080 users manual is included in a 3 hole punched binder, which is full of information on assembly, functionality, use etc. It also includes manuals on the 4K board, the MPU board and more The pages are yellowed and fragile but are all readable.
