For sale is an Industrial Micro Systems (IMS) 16K static RAM board for the S-100 bus. This board uses 2114 type SRAMs and is populated with 250 nS (or faster) parts for reliable 4 MHz operation. It supports the following:
  • Addressable on 16K segment boundaries
  • Bank select byte through I/O port (configurable for Cromemco, North Star, etc)
  • Jumperable for MWRITE front panel support or turnkey operation
  • *PHANTOM line support
  • ROM block-out in 1K to 15K segment
This board arrived nonworking due to several failed 2114 SRAMs. You can see them in the final picture, as the original Motorola parts were replaced with NEC parts. The board was jumpered for 0x4000 - 0x7FFF and tested in one of our IMSAIs, using Lifeboat Associates' Rasmussen memory test program (MEMR) under CP/M 2.2, with a 4 MHz Cromemco ZPU.
IMS boards are built to a high standard and we've found them to be very reliable once repaired and tested. These boards are not IEEE-696 spec, so they are best suited for older S-100 machines, like Altair 8800s, IMSAI 8080s, SOL-20s, etc.
