NIB Vector Electronics CompuPro Godbout RAM17 64K Static RAM S-100 Board Altair:
$250.00

For sale is a bit of a S-100 curiosity: this board is a standard Godbout/CompuPro RAM17 64K x 8 static RAM board for the S-100 bus, but it\'s branded for Vector Electronics. Vector Electronics is extremely well known in the electronics world as a supplier of prototyping materials for basically anything. They did provide some S-100 supplies, such as backplanes, but apparently decided to whitelabel a Godbout product for their RAM offering!
Vector Electronics chose wisely, as the RAM17 is as close to a universal S-100 RAM board as you can get. It supports IEEE-696 standards, but still operates correctly with pre-standard S-100 systems like the Altair and IMSAI (do note you will probably need to deal with grounded pins 20/70 on IMSAIs). The RAM17 allows for disabling any 16K block of memory, and the top block is divided into smaller blocks to allow for memory-mapped video, disk controllers, ROM boards, etc. This is one of the boards we recommend for our customers looking for hassle-free, low power static RAM for their vintage S-100 machine!
In addition to using 6116-type 2K x 8 static RAMs, this board can accept 2716-type EPROMs and 2816-type EEPROMs, as well as a few others, like SEEQ\'s 52B13 EEPROM. The RAM17 cannot program EPROMs as it does not provide the supervoltage necessary.
Included in the listing are the board, original Vector Electronics branded technical manual, all original packing (the peanuts were in there when we cut the tape seal), and the original outer box. This box will be shipped inside another box to preserve it, no postage will be affixed directly to the vintage card box.
We haven\'t opened the antistatic bag that the board is in, but if you purchase this board and would like it tested, we\'re happy to do so. Any repairs are covered under the sale price.
