Rare Alps Commodore 1541c floppy disk drive


Refurbished, lubricated, replaced faulty 7406 chip and faulty capacitors


Diagnostic test results included in images.

Case has virtually no discoloration and is in very good condition.


Sold without power cable or serial cables (will be needed to operate)


Most of the restorations I do are the bare minimum in order to bring the units to normal operation without exposing the main boards to too much heat. My primary concern is damaging traces and/or the chips.


I do, however, completely disassemble, clean the drive and internal components, and lubricate the recommended areas.


All of the capacitors are tested, and electrolytic caps are visually examined. Any necessary replacements are made, moving parts are lubricated, spindle motor speed is calibrated, and the head is aligned if necessary.
