For offer is a “UNIVAC 1” VACUUM TUBECIRCUIT BOARD from the early 1950’s.

Produced by Remington Rand for the UNIVAC 1, introduced in 1951. -

Only 46 UNIVAC model 1 computers weremade. This unit is 23-1/2 inches longby 9 inches high by 2 inches wide. -


This rare nearly two-foot long logic circuit boardcontains 10 Octal base vacuum tubes, and 10 smaller tubes. It weighs about 6 pounds. Each of the 10 Octal base tubes are branded with the \"Univac\", \"Remington-Rand Univac\" or \"Remington-Rand\" name on the base. The smaller tubes are of various brands, such as RCA, Motorola, Magnavox, etc. Dates of the tubes are not known. The tubes have not been tested.

The components and tubes have not been cleaned. Some original age related corrosion exists as seen in photos. This is a non-working display unit. Untested. Original \"Remington-Rand, Inc., Eckert-Mauchly Division\" badge label with serial number \"2773 5\" is intact (please photos).


The UNIVAC 1 contained over 5,000vacuum tubes, many of which were made by various different manufacturers. These tubes probably have differentmanufacture dates, I have not checked them.


UNIVAC 1 was the first large scale,commercially available computer made in the U.S., and its technology spawned along lineage of large computers to follow.Univac was the world leader in computers until the very late 1950’s whenIBM surpassed them.
