Upgraded my Plex server. There is a 250GB SSD Kingston Boot drive, with ubuntu 24 loaded on it currently. It also has anLSI SAS9280-4i4e SAS/SATA card, that supports the 12 front drive bays (all carriers included, but NO DRIVES). Add your own SATA or SAS drives to the hot-swappable bays. The 250GB boot drive leaves all the available SAS slots for large storage array. I had these built out with Seages 6TB SAS drives that you can pick up for like $60 each today, in a RAID-6 configuration with linux software raid, worked SUPER WELL. The unit has (2) 1GB Intel onboard NICs. It also has IPMI, and out of band management ethernet port (there are 3 network ports on the back, 2 are for the operating system, and 1 is for IPMI for the server management interface. The unit also has (2) power supplies (redundant). Here are the details:
