ABOUT: For your consideration is an excellent '91 Macintosh Classic, the last of the 68000 O.G. compact Macs. This Mac is in "fully working collectable project" condition; it has not received any restoration or modification, but it powers on and has been tested to boot from there internal solid state System 6 firmware, and format + read an included 1.44mb floppy.
Due to the vintage and un-restored nature of this Mac, it is sold for retro tech enthusiast collection and restoration, with the idea that there may be multiple hurdles to overcome, includingpotentialfloppy drive rebuild or even logic board/power supply/CRT board re-capping of all the 35+ year old electrolytic 1991 Macintosh Classic• 4MB maxed SIMM RAM• 1.44mb "superdrive" floppy drive in fully functional condition• CRT in functional condition• ADB Apple keyboard II and Mouse II included• Vintage gray "L" head C13 power cable is included
ONE UPPER AND ONE LOWER CASE SCREW ARE MISSING. The unit holds together reliably with the two included case & CONDITION: This Mac does power on. The floppy drive both reads and ejects floppies. The drive has not been serviced, so expect to potentially rebuild or refresh the floppy drive someday down the road. System was tested to boot from its unique internal firmware (hold down Option / Apple / X / O on boot) and was tested to read an included selection of apps and games on the formatted test floppy. This unit does NOT have a hard drive installed, but does have a SCSI cable and Molex plug should you decide to add one.
The computer's chassis is moderately UV yellowed, but no dirt or signs of woodshed storage. Battery bay is empty and the original battery did NOT spill. This system was almost fully disassembled to inspect and the internal PCBs were found to look clean for the age. The CRT has a very slight vertical waviness on first cold boot, a reminder that the analog board (and logic board for good measure) will eventually need their electrolytic capacitors replaced.
The included keyboard works very well a good feel considering it is a membrane unit. A few of the letters are slightly worn off the keycaps. The mouse works but could use some careful cleaning and adjustment as the rollers are gummed up and obviously showing their This Mac is offered AS A COLLECTABLEAND A PROJECT, for enthusiast or collector purchase. It is guaranteed to arrive as-described, but carries no warranty for longevity, as you are guaranteed to experience random hardware issues that will require tinkering during your ownership of this vintageunit!
