ABOUT: For your consideration is a Macintosh Plus, modified through a licensed Apple program out of the original front and chassis of a Mac 128K. This old Plus has been tested to power on, and despite a tired floppy drive, it was tested to boot from my custom 800K System 6 floppy, included!
This is a "running, driving project car". It has a few quirks, the FREE included keyboard is non-functional and requires some tinkering. This is an excellent base for an enthusiast to restore further, or just curate & enjoy as a representation of the original Mac.Please remember that, while I am a retro tech enthusiast, I am not an expert on the specifics of any given piece of retro technology. Some small components may be missing that I am not familiar with, so please ask any questions BEFORE offerding. This is a piece of 1980's technology that is incomplete, and offerding on it constitutes an interest to tinker with the understanding of potential unexpected hurdles common to retro tech such as capacitor replacement and floppy drive 1984 Macintosh 128K front bezel, frame, and CRT
• 1986 Macintosh Plus upgrade kit, which included an 800K floppy drive, Plus logic board, and rear plastic case
• 1x 800K floppy drive, tested to boot but with non-functional eject (you'll need to use a paper clip) in need of rebuild
• Motherboard has 1MB RAM onboard
• Battery was removed by a previous owner, leakage in the bay damaged the positive battery terminal
• Grey C13 power cord
• FREE original beige tenkey-less Apple keyboard, cord not included (NON-FUNCTIONAL, tested not working on multiple Macs)
• Functional, cosmetically mis-matched platinum Apple & CONDITION, READ THIS SECTION: This 128K/Plus is in overall good exterior shape with yellowed case but no cracks or signs of abuse. The CRT could stand to be fine tuned for position and sharpness, but appears functional.
• The system was tested to power on
• The screen allows brightness adjustment and does not have any coil whine or signs of immediate failure
• The Mac booted from System 6 floppy.
• The included keyboard is NOT functional and has some internal failure, the coiled phone cord is also not included
• The included mouse was tested working, will require a detail clean of the rollers
• The Mac's keyboard port was tested functional with a working test This Mac is offered as a project, sold as "potential work required" with a promise that you will eventuallyneed a willingness to undertake electronics projects to repair or maintain components like the PSU, CRT board, and floppy. While this should be a very straight forward project, working with a soldering iron and working around a CRT throwback require care and it is the buyer's responsibility to undertake this unit's restoration.
