ABOUT: For your consideration is a Macintosh SE with keyboard and mouse, in need of a full restoration. This unit is an excellent candidate for restore, with no battery installed and no battery spill damage to motherboard. This unit has NO hard drive and powers on but does not boot due to failing capacitors. This unit is considered a PROJECT and is offered as NON-FUNCTIONAL for enthusiast rebuild or parts.
SPECS: This is a Mac SE "Superdrive" model, and the unit retains its 1.44mb SuperDrive, UNTESTED. Motherboard appears to have 1MB (4x 256k) RAM SIMMs, and is free from Maxell battery biome damage with NO battery installed and NO battery acid leak around the battery bay. CRT and other internal components appear in normal condition. The outer case is missing the rear accessory door and does display moderate to heavy UV yellowing. All 4 case screws are included. An Apple Keyboard II with coiled cable and early ADB mouse are included, both in similarly yellowed condition.
TESTING: This SE will power on but will NOT chime. The CRT turns on but cannot hold V-sync (see the first 3 photos). This unit is thus assumed to need all new caps on (at least) the analog board. Keyboard was tested to work, mouse needs to be disassembled and cleaned as it does not track correctly, but is included due to its age and rarity (a G5431 original Apple IIgs mouse). NO power cable is included, this SE takes a normal C13 computer power cord.
TERMS: This lot is offered AS BROKEN, ASIS, FOR PARTS OR ENTHUSIAST REBUILD. While this should be a very straight forward project, working with a soldering iron and working around a CRT throwback require care and it is the buyer's responsibility to undertake this unit's restoration.
