Vintage Digital DEC LK250-CA Mechanical VAXMate IBM Compatible Keyboard PARTS:
This listing is for a Vintage Digital DEC LK250-CA Mechanical IBM Compatible Keyboard, with parts missing and some defects. The main issues with this keyboard are the three missing key caps\stems (F11 is here but has no stem, F10 and F17 are entirely missing), and the two screw-posts that hold the casing together have been snapped off (all of the clips seem to be intact). This all happened before I received this item so I don't know exactly what happened to it. The keyboard is otherwise in decent condition for it's age. As shown in my first picture, it passes an 84-key test in Checkit (the keys that are missing can easily be actuated by poking something through the center of the key switch). I don't think this keyboard is actually fully compatible with the 104-key layout of most "modern" keyboards, but there may be a workaround for this (I tried Alt+F17, and it changes the layout but it still isn't a standard 104-key layout). Please note, it is compatible with an 84-key XT-style keyboard layout but it uses standard *AT* signalling, NOT PC\XT signalling, so this likely will not work on an original IBM PC\XT! This was tested on a standard ATX 440BX motherboard, without any kind of signal conversion, just an AT to PS/2 adapter.
The keyboard will be packed securely to ensure safe delivery but it is being sold AS IS, FOR PARTS ONLY. It has been cleaned up but it is used and may have other defects I haven't noticed or it may have other electronic problems. For all I know it could stop functioning completely the next time it is plugged in, so please only offer if you are planning to use it for parts or to repair.
