For sale is a Teac 5.25\" floppy drive.
I just removed this drive from a Pentium II 266 machine that had been throwing RAM and VRAM codes.
I was unable to test it, as a result. The computer itself had been upgraded many times, and was dusty, but this drive was cleaner than everything else. I don\'t think it was in there very long, comparatively.
I don\'t know whether or not it works, but even if it doesn\'t it\'s worth repairing. Someone out there needs this precise shade of brown to match their setup, after all. Perhaps that someone is you. :)
I tried to capture the color as accurately as possible, but in the end had to put it on a sheet of paper and adjust the picture.
The drive is of the \"grayish brown\" variety, and it\'s color is only mildly aged. This drive was never \"\'late 90s beige\".
What you need to know about old floppy drives:
1: There\'s no telling where they\'ve been stored, so they usually smell like general old electronics.
2: Some of them require lubrication, which is a fairly easy process for most people.
3: They should be cleaned before use: Externally, blown out, vacuumed, and with a cleaning disk.
4: There will be a last time they function. Sometimes that last time is the first time you use them.Condition:
See condition description. This drive is untested, and I haven\'t been over it for an inspection. All I did was wipe it down with a cloth and photograph it, so it could use a cleaning. Any remaining dust should be blown out before use.
