ABOUT: For your consideration is a rare 1990's HP Omnibook Supcompact notebook PC with 486 CPU and Active Matrix screen. This unit is in overall clean shape and is offered to another retro enthusiast for collecting, or to restore. This unit has NO hard drive, NO power adapter, and NO external drives such as the floppy.
SPECS: Omnibook 600CT, Intel 486 DX4 75mhz, 8MB RAM. Active matrix screen.
CONDITION: This unit is in overall very good shape for the era with only light signs of use and no catastrophic damage or heavy wear. The unique built-in mouse has a small cracked section on the bottom, but the rest of the chassis has only light scuffing and some wear/dust. LCD screen appears clean and displayed working backlight and working text. This laptop was tested to power on from a modded DC power adapter (this unit requires a center negative charger). It was tested to POST, display CPU and RAM stats, request a boot disk, and reset via CTRL/ALT/DEL. No further testing was done.
TERMS: This is a PROJECT vintage laptop that will require rebuilding and careful attention by a retro enthusiast tech. This unit is offered as incomplete and non-functional and is sold 100% asis as a curio or collectable. I will include the 12V 2A DC power adapter I modified to test the unit, but be warned that it is only an originality center positive charger with the cable cut and swapped for center negative.
