ABOUT: For your consideration is an original Power Macintosh, the PowerMac 7100 with its more-robust metal Quadra chassis. This unit is offered in as-found condition and has many needs on the road to restoration. This system has been tested to chime, power on, and display video and is offered to a vintage Mac enthusiast for parts or restoration!
Due to the vintage nature of this Mac, it is offered as an enthusiast project, for retro tech enthusiast restoration, with the idea that there will be multiple hurdles to overcome, including floppy drive rebuild and logic board + power supply, re-capping of all the 30 year old electrolytic Original 1994 Power Macintosh 7100/80
• 80mhz PowerPC 601 CPU
• 72-pin RAM SIMM slots are populated with unknown memory size
• 1.44mb Superdrive floppy drive installed(untested)
• 4x Apple SCSI CD-ROM installed (malfunctioning)
• Apple OEM PDS slot HPV video card (no VRAM slots populated)
NOTE: Macs of this era have DB-15 double row video output for old Mac-specific monitors. You will need a VGA adapter to use this Mac with a modern LCD, readily available on & CONDITION: This PowerMac has many signs of wear and age, including some surface rusting on all the uncoated metal parts, such as the rear internal frame rails and the metal Nubus slot covers. The CD-ROM bezel is obviously mismatched fro the original chassis and has heavy yellowing on the side. The hard drive and caddy are missing. The motherboard has dust, grime, and light signs of electrolytic spillage.
This Mac was tested to power on from the add-on HPV video card using an Apple OEM monitor. It was also tested to power on from the proprietary Power Mac HDI-45 socket on the motherboard (adapter not included or available). The Mac powered on, chimed, and registered movement from a mouse (not included). This unit was UNABLE to boot from the internal CD-ROM, which constantly ejects the disc. No further testing was This Mac is considered A DAMAGED/ASIS PROJECT and is being offered to an enthusiast in partially non-functional condition with no guarantee of longevity. This unit is promised to have frustrating speed bumps and weird quirks during your ownership and an adventurous spirit is advised when delving into classic Macs!
