We have tested the flash drive as a 1) new Windows 11 installation and 2) as a Windows 11 upgrade. It is in a working state when it is shipped out.
This product is sold as-is. We are not responsible for problems you encounter when installing/upgrading. Using the software will be at your own risk. We will assume that you are familiar with the install and setup process and have a degree of knowledge in the installation/upgrade of an operating system. Besides the suggestions below, we will not give any further IT support for any installation and setup relating to this product.
When installing a new Windows 11 software for the first time on a hard drive and it does not find the hard drive, it is NOT an indication that the USB flash drive is faulty or defective. If the computer boots into the installation setup, it is not a bad or defective USB flash drive software; it may be a hardware (hard drive) or BIOS setting issue. As we cannot control the age/type of the computer you are installing on, the BIOS and nature of the hard drive being installed to the laptop or desktop/tower, you may need to troubleshoot the computer and/or tweak your BIOS settings to make it work with Windows 11. This is not an indication that we have sold you a defective product.
For new Windows 11 installations, you will have to boot of the USB flash drive. If the computer does not boot off the USB flash drive, you may not have set the BIOS to boot off a USB drive. Please adjust your BIOS settings accordingly.
For Windows 11, you should always choose UEFI (not legacy or CSM) as your boot mode in the computer BIOS, as it is the recommended and most secure option.
If you can't find your drive during a Windows 11 installation, it usually means the installation process isn't recognizing your storage device, which could be due to several reasons like incorrect BIOS settings, a faulty drive, a drive that is not partitioned properly, or the need to install a specific driver for your storage controller, especially if you have a newer system with technologies like Intel VMD (Volume Management Device) enabled; to fix this, you can try accessing your BIOS to check settings, potentially disabling VMD, or manually loading the required storage controller driver during the Windows installation process. It could also be that you have not connected the hard drive up properly. Please check connections to the drive accordingly.
You should not encounter the problems above if you are just upgrading from Windows 10 or an older version of Windows 11. If you are upgrading from Windows 10 or an older version of Windows 11, boot into your current operating system, access the USB flash drive and click on the setup.exe executable. The upgrade software installation will appear and you can follow the prompts to upgrade your system.
If the hard drive you are installing on is enabled with Bitlocker encryption, you may have to disable that BEFORE installing the drive as a new installation (otherwise you would not be able to use the part of the drive that is encrypted). Bitlocker encryption to a hard drive makes the data partition in drive inaccessible and 'locked'. You will need to know the Bitlocker encryption key to unlock the drive to access the data and use the drive space that it is installed on. If you do not know the encryption key, please ask the person you purchased the computer from or it may be tied to a Microsoft account. Brand new hard drives (with no operating system installed on it) will not be encrypted by default.
Please make sure that you are connected to a power supply (if you are installing or upgrading on a laptop). Do not attempt to install it with battery power, as it might shutdown during the installation/upgrade process and may corrupt the installation and any data that is on the drive. Please backup your data first before attempting any setup installation! We are not responsible for any loss of data when you install or upgrade.
