Excellent drive for the money! It shipped fast and was well protected. Once I opened the package, I noticed it came in a sealed antistatic bag, so it's obviously brand new. Since HGST has a great reputation for longevity, I'm pretty confident in this purchase. Installed in seconds, and now it's my storage drive on my desktop. No weird noises. Not even while using unstoppable copier to transfer files to the new drive. Highly recommend.

    Great bang for you buck

    Works well for a refurb but what can you really expect? Not expecting it to last for years but its serving it's purpose for unloading data off other near-full hard drives. Now, it's been awhile since I've used a 7200 RPM hard disk drive so I'm not sure if I'm getting the top speeds or if I'm getting bottlenecked elsewhere, but video file transfers move at about 113-130 MB/s which is not bad at all, though it's the equivalent of a Micro SD UHS-3 approximately

    Decent drive for the money

    HGST drives are some of the best if not the most reliable HDDs on the market. Unlike many other drives I have had in the past, this one looked brand new in a sealed bag. It was installed an in use in a few minutes. It took a little longer to copy all the files over but maybe 2 hours for 2TB.

    Get as many as you can, and a few spares!

    I now own 32 of these drives. I first purchased them when they were released. I have YET to replace a single one as a failure. Not to say they are indestructible, but I personally have not had a failure. They function in my Synology NAS units, and my ESXi host servers.

    4TB Hard Dtive that works like new.
