The CPU arrived reasonably packed. The metal heatspreader had a tiny round hole in it, but it turns out Xeons of this gen all do. It replaced a V3 and gave my Precision T5810 a 15% bump in the benchmark score, not bad for $20! Works fine so far.

    Great CPU for budget workstation.

    Excellent processor for a budget workstation. It really doesn't feel like it is as old as it is. I would not recommend pairing this with less than 32GB of ram (64GB for best performance) as this CPU seems to behave significantly better in single core tasks with more memory per core. Great for production on a budget and can even do reasonable performance in a gaming system (but not ideal). I have this processor in a used Z440 workstation and it works great for Maya, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve. I Love this CPU and it has served me well.
