How to rip MP3s from CDs

Can XMMS rip MP3s from CDs? If so, how would I do this. If not, what is the simplest way to accomplish this in Knoppix?

AFAIK XMMS cannot do this. You do not mention if you're using the live cd or an hdd install.

You could use Grip or my preference abcde. Oh and BTW why not try using .oggs instead of mp3? Oggs not only sound better but they are smaller and .ogg format is open source unlike mp3.

K3b I believe can rip. Try the lutimedia menu.
