XFCE4 being my favourite DM , it was very please to discover cheat code xfce4

Sadly this it boots to commandline but then fails to start xfce4 with some error an security authorisation file.

one of serveral things that seem broken on this rather disappointing release.

Hoping it will mature soon.

hmm. It seems this "feature" had been around since at least 4.0.2 in a similar state.

Just remastered 4.0.2 and saw in the startup script it accepts xfce and xfce4 as well. Sadly this fairs no better than it did on 5.0.1

kde icewm and larsem seem to start correctly but xfce and xfce4 only manage to put up the desktop splash before crashing out to the console.

Nothing in dmesg or /var/log/message (zero length file)

cheatcode fb800x600 seems joyously ignored as well . What ever I feed it , it thinks it knows better and comes out 1024x768.

This very close to being very useful but there are some annoying holes.
