Hi all, :)
Im new to Knoppix [or anything to do with linux] and i just burned knoppix 5.2 dvd. When start the pc it lets me use knoppix but everything is in german! I tried changing the logo in the taskbar to english and that didnt work. I tried typing in knoppix lang=en at the beginning but that didnt help either.
Can someone help me please? It would be much appreciated. THANK YOU !!!
Regards :D

 If you follow the Get Knoppix link near the top of this page, you'll find that the "newest" officially Internet released version of Knoppix is 5.1.1 . (And by newest I mean about 20 months old!) :!: There was a 5.2 version made for a German trade show, but it seems that not much effort was made to get all of the English support in that (as your post seems to confirm). :( So if you choose to use unofficial releases, it should not be a big surprise that you see some problems that most of us have not seen. If you are managing to type lang=en (that = sign can be hard to type on a system that thinks you have a German keyboard!), that about all that I know to suggest that you do, other than use BitTorrent to download a proper ISO of 5.1.1 with EN in the name rather than DE.

Hi there,
The correct syntax/command to change from german to english is :
knoppix lang=us and NOT as another member pointed out : knoppix lang=en !!
I have the same version as yours :5.2 and that is the command I use with no problems at all.
have a nice day ! :)
