Hello Everyone,
Some of you might think remastering is a piece of cake, yet for some may not be so easy. Anyway my job determines that we need a live distro to accomplish certain tasks, and I personally like Knoppix 5.3.1 very much. The difficulty is to fit the 5.3.1 DVD into a 3GB storage space.
The bottom line: we lack the resources (e.g. computer equipment, time etc...) to even follow the remater how-to, let alone giving it a shot. Therefore if any of you remaster gurus out there is interested in taking on this project, please drop us a line and how much you charge for this project.
Our goal is to shrink the 5.3.1 DVD down to about 3GB +/- 100MB. Therefore we need to remove some less-relevant software originally included on the DVD, such as Koffice, Goffice, other desktop environments except KDE (if any), other browers except Firefox and so on ...
We can discuss more about what needs to be removed and payment method etc. in due course. For now we just need an estimate ($) and to see whether anyone out there is interested doing this project for us. Thanks.
