View Full Version : Does Knoppix support celeron machine?

hi everyone,

have anyone use knoppix on celeron machine? does it work? at first i thought that it doesn't support my hardware such as network card, sound card. I take it all out and it still can't run. i was thinking of installing it to my hard drive but it cant even run through cd...any help ppl?

hi ppl...i manage to run it on my celeron machine...yahoooo....when the command line "boot" came out...i type failsafe then it can go to desktop...n i just install it to my hard drive...cheers ppl

Yes, it will run on a Celeron machine no problem (I'm using Knoppix 3.3 and a 1GHz Celeron 256m ram to post this).

What errors are you getting when you boot from CD? Try and narrow down the problem: is the CD OK? (checksum or another machine), do you get to the knoppix boot screen? If so, try booting with various no- parameters to skip parts of the hardware detection.

If you post the details here of what's not working, there are many people here who can hopefully help you out.
