hpdeskjet 5550 - no printing
Greetings!
First I wan't to express my affection of the Knoppix Distro. It came as a big surprise how well it worked. I have to say I never thought it would dedect all the hardware of my Compaq laptop, but it seems to have done just that.
Well, to the problem. I have a hpdeskjet 5550 printer connected to the Parallel port. The printer config utility provided identified the printer being connected to the parallel port and I installed the apropriate drivers. The problem is, however, that the printer does not respond when given the print command.
So I am hoping for a dialoge that will help me eliminate this problem.

Sorry, I can't help you. I'm waiting to see what response you get as I have a bunch of networked HPDJ1600Cs with a similar problem.
Just wanted to say, "I feel your pain," re the dual boot! I have the same problem....
