IBM R40(e): Knoppix 3.4 & 3.6 do not boot but 3.3 does
Hello
while I had no problems booting and installing 3.3 on my IBM R40 (e) Laptop
when I try to use 3.4 or 3.6 I receive the following msg:
ACPI BIOS found act modules ....
PCMCIA found starting cardmgr
and then the Laptops hangs.
I am very puzzled, is there any option in the booting prompt I could use?

Try
knoppix26 acpi=off
should work with 2.4 kernel as well.

Try
knoppix26 acpi=off
should work with 2.4 kernel as well.
Ok thanks, that worked nicely, I am not sure which kernel to use 2.4 or
2.6 most likely I stick to the known beast.
