No sound card after installation

Hello, I have installed Knoppix into my hardrive with a debian style configuration. Now I don't have any sound card. And when I go for the configuration K-KNOPPIX-CONFIGURE-SOUNDCARD COFIGURATION I have: YOU DON'T SEEM TO BE RUNNING A KERNEL WITH MODULAR SOUND ENBLE. (SOUNDCORE.O WAS NOT FOUND ON MODULE SERCH PATH). TO USE SNDCONFIG YOU MUST BE RUNNING A KERNEL WITH MODULAR SOUND, SUCH AS THE KERNEL SHIPPED WITH DEBIAN GNU/LINUX OR A 2.2 KERNEL, AND SOUND MUST BE COMPILED AS MODULES.
What is that I have to do to have my sound working in knoppix just like when it boots from cd?
Thanks.
