changing from a "beginner" style hd install to a d

When you do a hd install you can choose three options:
cd-style, beginner and debian. How do you change from beginner to debian without reinstalling?

There's really no way. The differences are primarily in the boot up procedure and the user premissions but there may be some deeper differences too.
