Knoppix 3.3: When booting the screen remains black...

Hi all

I've bought a book about Knoppix 3.3 with the full version of it on CD. The CD boots without a problem, and the system configuration and examination works until the hardware
is being diagnosted, but as soon as the GUI should appear the screen remains black... :(

I've downloaded v3.7 and this one works, but for the book it would be useful to have 3.3 running, too... anyone can help me? My laptop config is:

ACER Travelmate 630
512MB + 256MB RAM
GeForce 2go Gfx

Anyone has an idea? :) Thanks.
