Can't get network working (connecting via network card)

Can't get network working, connecting via network card to external adsl modem/router. I tell to netcardconfig same addresses as in my other os wich works.

dmesg says NETDEV watchdog: eth0: transmit timed out

my networkcard is: PCI Realtek (irq 18)
adsl modem: Telewell EA200

im running knoppix livecd ver. 3.2 (18.4.2003)

I cannot say if this will work for you or not but you could check out:

Kmenu>System>DSL>DSL Configuration tool

If you've been running Windows on this computer and have run any of the "security updates" for windows this year, see my posts
in this forum titled Evidence WinXP "security updates" may break Linux and Knoppix using NatSemi DP83815 stopped
working. There are also a pair of commands in these posts that might get you working again.
