OpenGL on i845G/GL graphics chipset is flaky

Hi,
I have a computer with onboard i845G/GL chipset and knoppix 3.6 installed. But when I play a game which uses OpenGL like for eg. BZFlag or BillardsGL, I see patches on the screen often as if the graphics aren't smooth. What shall I do about it?

Thanks.
