Intel Pro/1000 MT 8086:100e doesn't seem to be supported

Knoppix "sees" the card during the autoconfiguration.
But, when it tries to load the e1000.o module it says it can't find the card. "No such device"
Perhaps there is a newer driver. Also the video doesn't detect but that is fixed in the latest CVS of XFree86.

The system is as follows:
Dell Optiplex GX260
Pentium 4 1.8Ghz
256MB DDR
Intel 845GL (Brookdale-G) with onboard video
Intel Pro/1000 MT PCID: 8086:100e
SBLive Value 5.1
ISA Riser board.
