hallo,
I installed knoppix 3.3 on my harddisk. No I´m trying to get into internet with a 56k modem.
Modem connects to my isp, connection is fine. But if I try access a web page, download my emails, etc. nothing happens. I also tried a ping from bash - no reaction. But my connection is still established....
Any ideas?

Try dialing up from your root account first. If root connects successfully but your user account doesn't, that narrows the problem down to permissions, and you can play around with suggestions from this thread and the other thread links contained in it.
If you need more help, it would be helpful to know how you're dialing your ISP -- kppp?
