How would i go about removing the programs preinstalled in the Knoppix CD? I dont need any secondary programs like office, web browsers, media players.....ect, all i need is the OS.

or has anyone got a version of Knoppix which isn't 700mb?

if your wondering why I need a copy which isn't 700mb then read this tread: http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16067

Take a look at http://www.morphix.org/.

You might just want a screensaver that rotates pictures. I don't know one off the top of my head, but surely they exist.

KISS (Keeping it simple)

HAHAHAHA! I've made! (with the help of Harry.K that is!)

It works well! to bad the screen i have is the old style ones and not TFT, or else the pictures would be much better. no slide show program but i did find the picture viewer, and I managed to set it up so that if i press the 'space bar' the next picture pops up!

all i have to do now is give it a nice coat of colour!

all together it cost me under £10 and a unusable old laptop (333mhz, 256ram, cd-rom).
