Atheros support in Knoppix 3.8.1 ?

I noticed a post on the developers list where someone has the same lspci "signature" as my card:

and their card does work. But what I noticed is that they are using newer version of ath_hal as opposed to the 0.9.12.14 version I'm using.

Now how do I install the newer version?

I used Joel's Deb package to install the drivers.

By downloading and compiling the MadWifi source, and make a new .deb package to install from. Which is the reason I asked Joel to post a howto for making the MadWiFi deb for Knoppix.

Now I have tried to do a Knoppix HDD and failed :-(
I have now tried to do a Debian install and failed there too :-(

In the process I lost my Window$ partition :-(

I would be most appreciative of anyone you can create the Koppix / Debian Madwifi package http://www.marlow.dk/site.php/tech/madwifi using the latest madwifi source http://madwifi.otaku42.de

Knoppix 3.8.2 solves my problem!! :!:


However, it would still be nice to get a HOW-TO for creating a Debian package of the Mad-Wifi drivers for Knoppix.
