yes I also got the segmentation fault when trying 2.6
Yeah, I also got sementation fault with megaraid.o, but I used the noscsi option and it worked wonderfully on my desktop. I wasn't so lucky with my laptop as my cd-rom is scsi.
Regards
I had an issue where setting a static IP with netcardconfig would reset (!) when the computer was rebooted, restarting the netcardconfig program at each boot and selecting No to DHCP would restore my settings (one step at a time) this was the Topiso Knoppix installed the debian way, hopefully this one won't have the same issue.
Installing on a Gateway lappy with a netgear pcmcia card.
> Will there be a boot.img file available somewhere?
With the move to isolinux, I didn't think there will be any more boot floppies.

I've the same problem to trying to boot with linux26... :( I want to probe the new kernel  Also I've tried linux26 acpi=offQuote:

To my surprise, the portal requires user+password to allow download... Any clue why guest+anonymous does not work? Or perhaps a direct FTP link to this source?Quote:

the command
"knoppix noscsi" (without quotes) causes megaraid.o not to be loaded.
I need to find out how to enable networking.
Knoppix does not seem to find the VMware (AMD PCNET) driver.
in previous KNOPPIX releases, Mozilla could connect to the internet by default.
Now only 127.0.0.1 shows up with "ifconfig" command.
bittorrent sucks...it doesn't work...
the net is sick... :(
come on guys, share it!
ok, downloading from ftp://planetmirror.com/pub/knoppix/K...2004-05-04-EN/
pretty fast ~100Kb/s
(max user 530)
wget is makein' me happy :-)
mirror @ 100mbit up at http://paducktions.net/filemgmt/singlefile.php?lid=27
Neato!
Funilly enough, I bought a 10 pack of 700mb CDRW discs today for when knoppix 3.4 got released. Got home and found it had been released!
Which was nice.

Yes it looks as though you have a corrupt or tampered with ISO. Mine checks out ok. I get 49a62cdac7a3afcee0d2d47ea17daa6f for the ISO and the burnt CD. I would download the ISO agian with bittorrent.Quote:

Grabbed the 3.4 iso from planetmirror and the md5sum worked out as:
Code:
md5sum KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN.iso
6a418719f9d920804bb0e1b13288f0ea KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN.iso
Checked it against the md5 file:
Code:
cat KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN.iso.md5
49a62cdac7a3afcee0d2d47ea17daa6f *KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN.iso
So my question is. Is the .md5 wrong, is my .iso corrupted, or has the iso been tampered with?
What have others seen?

I don't know what's up with the official tracker. I downloaded and left my torrent open all night at 16 people/ 128kb/sec max, and when I woke up there were tons of people leeching and I was sending 1kb/sec to perhaps 3 of them (and never to some poor soul who was stuck at 99.9% done for at least two hours...) I'm behind a firewall, but I was sharing like crazy last night.
10Mbps mirror
http://128.113.197.247/pub/KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN/
Runs 9am-12am EST
just wondering if there will be a DVD version of this coming out at any time? As you can see there have been many people offering to host the iso and also Bittorent could handle it I think.
GREAT WORK by the way!
One question about boot floppies - if there's no longer a boot floppy, how do those people who do remasters boot their remasters off the hard drive, thus saving many CDs?
Also, will a boot floppy ever be available for older machines?
Two things come to mind. First is fromhd which will let you boot your cloop file from the hard disk. Second is that you could setup syslinux (I havn't done it yet) so you can boot from hard disk, pretty much identically as from syslinux on cd. Third choice (I know I said two) is to use a cd-rw and just swap in a 0 byte KNOPPIX file and use fromhd (when you are changing the stuff outside the cloop).Quote:

Thanks for any help.
It doesn't work
I also tried knoppix noscsi but nothing... I just burned it and still doesn't work.
Help...
Since there are still few mirrors with 3.4 and BitTorrent seems to have died here are two good mirrors:
ftp://ftp.quicknet.nl/pub/Linux/ftp.knoppix.org/
http://dsbl.zonnet.nl/KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN/
There is a torrent working here.
http://www.tlm-project.org/torrents/knoppix/3.4/
http://paducktions.net/filemgmt/singlefile.php?lid=27 is still up :D

I had that one thing with the 2.6 kernel, but it doesnt happen when i boot from my hd. So far so good, only wish syphleed was preinstalled.
I've found some bugs in Knoppix 3.4 20040503
1. I have to boot with "noscsi" parameter under my old notebook (celeorn w/ Intel 440 chipset) and another desktop PC (P-III w/ Intel 815 chipset)
2. the same "time zone bug" in the C'T edition as well as knoppix 3.3 2003-02-09 is back again.
3. the XHTML editior display germany on the english edition
but there's also good news, the new Knoppix 3.4 now can detect my Buffalo LPC3-TX-CB PCMCIA lancard (which didn't work with the C'T edition before)
* how do I report a bug ? I didn't have any bugzilla account............

and too bad I didn't know how to fix those bugs,
here is the previous time zone bug solution from Tim Pope
(which already applied on knoppix v3.3-20040216)
http://mailman.linuxtag.org/pipermai...er/004288.html
well also with the "Resize and Rotate" 0.5 on the lower right conner Under KDE,
it's great but if you choose to switch to a smaller screen size (let's say 1024x768 to 800 x600)
you won't see the KDE Panel (the button bar) again...
should I consider this another bug ?
(I have to press <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Backspace> to kill X)
(but ofcouse, I could still press <Alt> + <F1> to get the Application Menu)
also problem when using Java applet to communicate, you couldn't login using ICQ2GO
(http://go.icq.com) as in Knoppix 3.4 C'T edition
* well but we still have Gaim
hmm now I should get a Bugzilla account..
hi guys, It's me again,
Actually I was thinking If we could have another Knoppix 3.4 in the short comming future, could we have apache 2 ?
Since Linux Kernel 2.6 features NPTL which will provide a Unix standard library for Multi-threading, should also use with the upgraded Multi-threaded Apached 2
guys, how's that ? :D
I think you are right.. not only that but becasue of the perl it brings down the server. I have redirected /bugs/ to the wiki page from now on.Quote:

Altough I'm just speculating, the Kaiserslautern 'mirror' (is it a mirror?) might be a trusted place to look for the mds:Quote:

Damn, It's not the one I have :(...
Wait... My copy has:
49a62cdac7a3afcee0d2d47ea17daa6f KNOPPIX_V3.4-2004-05-04-EN.iso
Which is the one published in this thread. What's going on here?
I have the 49a... one as well
DLed from:
ftp://ftp.quicknet.nl/pub/Linux/ftp....4-05-04-EN.iso
and the site md5 matches it.
Which utility can I use under windows to check out md5 sums?
