hmmmm, do you see (apart from time) any other differences, like errors when booting? you might post them under 'bugs' - so they can be fixed.

Hi Barke,
Try the "standard" cheatcodesQuote:
Knoppix 3.3 (9/24/03) takes 2:20 minutes to boot on my 600 Mhz PC. However, starting with 3.3 (11/03/03) it takes 6:35 minutes to boot! It's the same with 3.3 (11/14/03).
knoppix nosmp noapic
at the boot: prompt.
If you don't have scsi you may also use noscsi together with the other codes.
Ciao Martin
Nope, that made no difference. Most the time seems to after detection, right after the beautiful new blue splash screen and before the KDE initialization icons pop up in the center box. I can wait as long as 4 minutes right there. I tried the 11/19/03 version. It was almost a minute faster, but still well over twice as long as the 9/24/03 version. Is it just me or my system, or does anyone else notice that the more recent versions are taking 2 to 3 times longer to boot? Of course, it's hard to complain too much cause knoppix is so great! Still, does anyone know of a work-around?
Thanks,
Ralph
