Boot & Persistence Questions in 3.4

Hello, I've tried the new versions of Knoppix v.3.4(latest release) and i have 2 unresolved questions:
1. How to tell init not to rewrite file /etc/fstab on every boot? (so my detected windows partitions to be automatically mounted)
2. How to have constantly-saved network configuration?

After some searching in google.com and #knoppix I've found that there is a function checkbootparam() which returns string passed to knoppix on every boot. So if it is set to "nofstab" then file /etc/fstab will remain with same content and will not get rewriten...
There is also a second method -> using updfstab.

About the networing I have no idea.
Any help will be appreciated...

About networking -> solution is to use update-rc.d and write this in the terminal console:
/etc/init.d/update-rc.d networking defaults
thus in every init level you'll have persistent loaded on startup network configuration!

Other solution -> not very fast but usefull is to re-install the distribution specifying option "debian" at first setup dialogue.
