xsession start problem. (newbie)

Ive read a lot, and i dont find an answer (or i dont unserstand info)
i know nothing about linux, i wanted to take a look without installing it, so... i downloaded a k3.4 cd and burned it.
when its booting everything seems fine, but when iniciatin xwindows it stops.
i copy the error text.
Executing /etc/init.d/xsession start.

.. text
. here)
Starting X11
X-Window session terminated with errors
Please check and retry 'etc/init.d/xsession start'
well. what now? what can be the problem???
may i download or burn a cd again?
is there something i can write to solve it?

i dont have any other pc to test the cd, but soon ill try with a friend's

One thing you can do is to see of the cd image is correct. Type 'knoppix testcd' in the bootscreen before giving enter (wil take a view minutes).

well... i did what you said,
and and the cd failed the check

so the problem was the copy.
Ill have to redownload it
