Knoppix on 250GB hdds

I am trying to do a hdd install of knoppix on a machine that has a 250 gb hdd, and the install script doesn't find any partitions, i always get the message about not having any partitions larger than 2GB. Any ideas?

Did you create any partitions?

Even ext2 fs can handle 2TB partitions afaik.
