Printer and Password problems

?1. When i try to change the password in console i type "sudo passwd" and it promts to type in new passwd but when i type anything it doesn't show anything. ?2. I can't get my printer to work which i think is because i don't know what driver i need for it. I have a DELL A920 all-in one. The list in the config panel doesn't show it,probably because it is so new. What can ido? thanks for any help on this matter.

when you type in the password, it doesn't show anything. That's proper operation. No stars, no dots, nothing. There's a site for linux printer drivers somewhere - can't think of it now. I had the same problem with an Epson and a Brother early on. Basically, I found that my printers behaved the same as other models made by that manufacturer, so I just selected that different model, and it worked fine.
