Neomagic MagicMedia 256AV Audio

Hello,

I have an old Acer TravelMate 720TX laptop with a Neomagic MagicMedia 256AV Audio soundcard, which Knoppix v3.3 (release 2004-02-16BETA) detects at boot:

but from which I can't get any sound

Well, what can I do to get sound out of this soundcard, since Knoppix appears to recognize it? (I tried booting with "knoppix alsa" but no luck).

Hi,
I have the same problem with an old Compaq laptop.
I've seen that numerous people have problems with that chip, but no answer could help me. Did you find a way to make yours work ?
