Man Im either perverted or that whole post was full of innuendo's :P
I must admit, I wasn't prepared for it. I was so completely "blown-away" by Knoppix v3.3, and rightfully, I should have been, coming from Win98 to Linux/Debian. The Knoppix v3.2, and v3.3, Live CD's literally, blew my socks off; speed, stablility, look and feel, available packages, and the ones supplied, were intense for any girl to take... I was so taken in by the Live CD's, I had to install them to my hard drive, and haven't regretted the day I did, scrubbing my old OS, and making my system "completely" Knoppix.
But, after hearing that Knoppix released, yet another, version... I had to see it, if not to run it, but at least be able to support it... I am affraid that I have an "upgrade" scheduled, for the install of this new version, and, again, amazed, that Knoppix again could literally raise the bar above where it has already set my standards of expectations.
The Live CD boot of Knoppix v3.4, with the experimental kernel 2.6.6, is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the hottest thing that I have ever run. It has blown-away any, and all, expectations that I either had, or have, for an OS. So much so, I can't wait to see how it runs when it is run from a hard drive install. True, the boot, and the start-up of programs from the Live CD is slow, probably due to the CD-ROM access issues, but, hopefully, the speed will increase remarkably after the install. But, even if it doesn't, this new version is amazingly faster than v3.3 was, even with the slowness of CD access involved.
I have to commend Klaus, and all those who were involved in the making of this new release, you have not only exceeded my expectations, but, have raised them farther than this lady could have ever hoped they could have gone. ( and here I thought v3.3 was as fast as an OS could go. )
I do think you "guys" are going to have a dickens of a time though, if you have "pulled out all the stops" in this version, I am literally going to go insane if the next version excells beyond this new version.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better than it already is, you "guys" release a new version that not only pushes the envelope, but smashes through it!
Thank you,
Ms. Cuddles
