what is apt-get in 3.4?

what is different about the apt-get in knoppix 3.4 that you install from the knoppix quicklaunch menu, and how is that different from the apt-get that comes included with 3.3?

Is it customized to work with a CD/ramdisk (no HD) configuration? Because apt-get in 3.3 never worked for me without using a HD.

The apt-get you mention in the menus is a wrapper for installation of some apps while in live-cd mode only
