Want a fixed IP address

Knoppix 3.4, installed to HDD. Knoppix keeps getting its IP address via DHCP from my router. I keep telling it that I want to have a fixed IP address (and other configuration parameters), but after re-boot it's back to DHCP.

Any pointers where I'm going wrong, please?

There seems to be a init file called "/etc/init.d/knoppix-autoconfig"

I had the same problem and just placed the line:

'/etc/init.d/networking restart'

at the end.

Clumsy hack, but it worked for me
