Just a guess here. I had a similar problem printing when I had 3.3 installed and noticed that I had the wrong page size selected under properties. The default settings, after installing the printer did not match my page size. After selecting US Letter, problem solved. Also, I have noticed that some documents like landscape rather than portrait, have you tried this? KSpread is not included on the 3.4 version, you would have to install it if you want to use it. I like OpenOffice.org and have not installed any KOffice apps since installing 3.4.
