I decided to be brave and update X to version 4.3 after I got KDE updated to 3.1. it seems to have worked great but there is one noticable little problem. before the upgrade Id see a status message just before KDM loaded saying "loading K Desktop Manager done". I still see this message but KDM doesnt load it just stays at a shell login prompt. after i log in and try kdm at the prompt or kdm -nodaemon nothing happens but when i type xdm it loads and i can login graphically and get back to KDE 3.1. can anyone help me get it back to autostarting kdm correctly?
